 Pontevedra was the Third Class Municipality of Capiz. Has 26 Barangay, 6 at coastal and 20 upland.
It has 13,320 hectares the total land area and it has 43456 populations.Distance (with poblacion as Focal point):
10 kms. from Panay, Capiz.

From the main City of Roxas you can travel 45 min. to pontevedra municipality. But before you would pass at the Municipality of PAN-AY Capiz the Home of the Biggest Bell in Asia, it is known because of it's very large bell in Panay Church, till you can reach the place of (Pontevedra) for almost 25-30 min. only. There are hearsay that at the back of the Santa Monica Parish Church at Panay Municipality there would be a place a lotted for statues, these statues are for expressing the Historical events that happened in the past. Hoping this hearsay will be implemented to attract more tourists respectively. But it depends at the capacity of the vehicle, you can ride in a motorcycle,tricycle,jeepney and car. While for the watery place of Pontevedra you can travel by a motorboat.
